Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Chequers Inn
Some distance out from Petham village centre, but beside the Roman road so better for passing trade no doubt. Anyway it looks appealing from the front and the interior doesn't disappoint. Very traditional bar at the front, with a dining room on the other side as you enter. Further back, there is another seating / dining area and further room on the far side (again laid up for those eating). I found clips for Dark Star Hophead and Old Dairy Red Top (£3.50) on the three handpumps, but the beer is actually dispensed by gravity from casks and polypins on a stillage behind the counter.
