Excellent reviews below, especially by PSM and I note, and nod in agreement with IMs comment on getting in the bog. Like OB, I had assumed I had done some rating for the is excellent little place that is a part of the railway station, but alas no! As described below, but the service is always great and it is always busy with a more mature clientele when I visit. Several ales on and this time I had an excellent Titanic Plum Porter and 4Ts Busmans Cherry MILD. Another must do... but as OB says, there isn't that many in Whitby you wouldn't do!

Slightly odd, micro-est of micros. Owned by the same people who run the far superior Arch and Abbey in town.

This is a single square room with a small number of tables. Entered to zero noise..... not even conversation. But soon attempted to get that going.

Four cask on and no complaints with my Abbeydale Absolution that was keenly (!) priced at £5.10. Until I saw that I could have three 1/3rds of it for £4.95. But that would have been me playing the system.

Nine or so ciders on but no keg/craft and only a handful of bottles. Far more variety and interest at the A+A.

What really made me laugh was that to use the unisex facilities, you needed to get a key on a hug tag and follow the instructions to lock it back up and return the key.

The place is tiny - they couldnt miss anyone taking advantage!

A very small micropub on the station owned by the same people who have the Arch & Abbey further up in town. An ever changing range of cask ales and the two I had were in excellent nick. Note that it doesn't open until 3 in midweek and by 4 it's busy. Also note that it's card payment only. It's a very good pub.
