Distinctly different from the Beer Hall,the Tap Room is far more basic ,L shaped industrial space with the brewing vessels for company.The furniture includes some very large tables for groups,some high circular tables at the rear and either flex light bulbs or heaters giving light and warmth,both need when it's cold and damp ouside.There is a staircase giving access to the Beer Hall ,but the Tap Room is best if you want to sample Brew York cask ale.On my visit that meant a choice of Citra Pale,Mocha Tonkoko,Mosaic Valley,Pale,Bitter,Extra Pale and Milk Stout (NBSS 4).
The Tap keeps shorter hours than the Beer Hall but is the better option for ale,you may need to keep your coat on ,but it's a must visit for real ale fans.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Brew York Tap Room

Quite a functional tap room in an industrial shed beside the brewing vessels, separated from the beer hall at first-floor level in the adjoining taller building. Also has a partly covered yard beer garden, and it was still warm enough in the evening for me to try that. Eight cask beers on handpump, including my punchy West Coast Pale (£4.80), plus various craft keg brews from fonts on the counter and the bar-back.

The downstairs part, next to the old brewery fermenters, and benefitting from a yard and decked area out the front and a smaller semi-outdoors area overlooking the river at the back. The little bar in the middle boasts 6 handpumps and 10 wall taps, serving mostly their own beers and a cider. While some of the stronger brews reach silly prices, the session level ones are quite reasonably priced. The place feels a bit earthier and more connected to the brewery than the upstairs beer hall.
