The Cock Tavern seems to be mainly food-led. I arrived between meal service times meaning there were only a handful of drinkers present around the bar area. With no space there, I retreated to a table, but all were made up for food.
There is an entrance porch to the side of the pub which leads straight to the tile floored bar area which had quite a few horse brasses. Various sections elsewhere have many tables for diners in carpeted rooms. Although one area features some St Patrick's Day buntings with green leprechaun hats. Board games were also available. Further seating can be found outdoors to the side of the pub.
Fuller's London Pride is the regular beer. Guests were Green Jack Trawlerboys, Greene King Abbot, Wolf Mad Wolf & Grain Three One Six. I did enquire about the availability of real cider, but it seems they only stock this during the summer months. The substitute was fizzy Aspall's. Adnams Lazy SIPA was the pick of the keg beers. The pub can be found in the 2025 Good Beer Guide.

The Chairman left this review about Cock Tavern
Out for a country walk and came across this pub quite unintentionally. It's at a crossroads in the middle of nowhere about half an hour's walk from Cantley station, and is well worth the walk. It's a lovely pub with a village feel (just no village!) and clearly food led, but with a nice bar area as well. There were 5 ales on the bar: London Pride and Abbot, alongside Green Jack Best Bitter, Humpty Dumpty Little Sharpie and Wolf Granny Wouldn't Like It. Would be well worth another visit.
