Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Black Rat
In many ways, a stereotypical micro-pub in a small converted florist's shop, with a total of 15 seats or bar stools (if I counted correctly). However, having said that, it has a welcoming atmosphere as well as looking the business. Four cask ales on handpump: Saltaire Citra, Linfit's Special Bitter, London Thunder porter from Rooster's and the seasonal Wensleydale Yorkshire Day (£4.30).

Another visit to this lovely micro, once the only decent pub in Thackley it’s the longest established of the three new/reburbished pubs in the area and all are worth a visit, although the late opening of them all might mess up your plans. Not very big, about 15 foot square, with benches round two sides, a shelf with stools down a third and the counter on the fourth. Four pulls of ever changing beers, usually from Yorkshire, always good quality. Saltaire, Settle, Ilkley and Yorkshire Heart on this occasion. The atmosphere is very slightly cliquey rather than the more democratic standards of micros, perhaps a sign of its long establishment under various owners.

A very good Micro pub that has only been open for three weeks. This is a small micro and only holds a maximum of twenty people when full. Four handpumps in operation on our visit, two from Naylors and two from Rudgate. I went for the Naylors Blond which was excellent.
The pub is owned and run by a husband and wife setup and have to say that they were very friendly and chatty and brought us into conversation with a few of their other customers.
Another feature here was the stuffed brown rat, positioned in a glass case on the back bar. To get here we took a bus across from the Fox in Shipley no's 613, 614, 660, 760. (Reviewed on 27th March 2016)
