Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Old Boatshed

The Old Boat Shed appears to be the place to go to for real ale and cider in the quiet seaside resort of Withernsea.

We received a warm welcome here from the enthusiastic landlady. The bar is at the rear right-hand side as you enter. The single room is reasonably large with plenty of seating, whilst there is a decent size patio at the front, which was quite popular in the sunshine.

There are 4 real ales on offer. On our visit, these were Great Newsome Elderflower Power, Elgood's Cambridge Bitter, Blue Monkey BG Sips & Falstaff Phoenix. In addition, there were 2 real ciders - Thistly Cross Whisky Cask & Weston's Rosie's Pig Strawberry & Elderflower Cider.

Formerly the town's lifeboat station, this is certainly a decent place for a drink or two.

A useful transformation of a former lifeboat house into a straightforward bar. Four handpumps offer a changing range of mainly local ales, with some craft beers in keg and bottle. The bar is in a corner and tables are arranged around the edges with a bare floor and walls in pale blue or brick. Some tables are outside at the front. Brews on offer at time of visit included Atlas Three Sisters and Isaac Poad 84.

Will Larter left this review about The Old Boatshed

An interesting conversion of a former lifeboat house, this pub had only been open a few weeks at the time of our visit, with work still going on to the frontage. Inside it's a basic oblong room with bare walls, with mirrors to provide an illusion of depth, and a bar to the right rear. As well as four hand pumps, there were polypins of real cider, some keg fonts and, unusually, scones and coffee available. Real ales were from Rudgate and Half Moon, and were in good condition. Service was friendly and welcoming, but the atmosphere is more cafe than bar. Worth a visit for the beer, though.
