The bar of this hotel, which is strategically placed opposite the "palace" or royal hunting lodge, is a narrow two-roomed affair leading deep into the building. There's a separate restaurant too. A solitary hand pump adorns the bar in the front room, and the available beer is repeated on another in the back room. Cairngorm Caillie was the beer on offer at the time of my visit, a pale and undistinguished beer which went down easily and left no lasting impression. I wouldn't mind popping back for another if I find myself in Falkland again, as this seems to be an interesting village worth a more detailed visit than I had time for on this occasion.
