One of my favourite stops of the day. The service was very friendly and it was good to see a couple of different beers available here.
A couple of Wye Valley ales alongside Fixed Wheel No Brakes and Pentrich Brewing Burn for No One. I went for the latter which was excellent.
There are plenty good pubs in Ludlow but this one raises the bar due to a more adventurous beer choice. Well worth a visit.

A plain Georgian styled (classical porch) with a few benches at the front. The interior has a couple of rooms downstairs, as described below, and a small room upstairs where a band was rehearsing. No TV or music (other than upstairs). Service was good but it seemed a little empty. Four ales on including a decent Hobsons MILD. Definitely worth a visit

Located just around the corner from the Market Square, this looks a little plain perhaps in comparison to many of the attractive timbered buildings in Ludlow, and seemed to attract more of a local’s crowd than many of the more touristy options nearby.
Internally it consists of a couple of rooms downstairs, with a room upstairs that is used for live music. We had thought we might go and see the singer, but all seats were taken and there was nowhere to really stand without blocking people’s view. The room to the left is the smaller of the two, and this was quite traditional in terms of décor with a quarry tiled floor, aqua blue paintwork on the walls and ceiling with a contrasting maroon chimney breast. Plenty of old black and white pictures were on the walls and there was a small wood burning stove in the fireplace. Fitted bench seating was along one wall, as well as small tables and chairs, and a ledge to rest your pint on elsewhere. The larger room to the right which included the bar counter was broadly similar in terms of décor.
Beers on tap were Oakham Citra and Bishops Farewell, Wye Valley HPA and Abbeydale Absolution. The solitary cider meanwhile was Cornish Rattler.
