Country pub that surprisingly for the area is open all day during the week. This is most likely due to its location on the Coast to Coast Walk, not that we were attempting the walk.

We were the only customers during our visit and were accompanied by the landlady, a barmaid and a few odd delivery drivers. There are a couple of rooms inside, with a small traditional bar area and a larger dining area which presumably provides an overspill area for drinkers when required. A TV in this area was blasting out music. At the rear is a garden and car park. Further bench seating is available at the front overlooking the coastal walk itself.

Owned by Richmond Brewery, the pub features a Richmond beer which was Stump Cross Ale on our visit. The second real ale was Black Sheep Best Bitter. Wifi was down, meaning it was cash only. But this is not the norm.
