Having seen Peter's welcoming review (below) on the return of this pub to its former glory I thought it would be rude not to call in. Especially as my destination pub on the occasion of Luton Town's return to Ewood Park was just around the corner. As described by Peter, it has been very smartly refurbished, but I would have to say that it is now a sports bar. (I counted six screens showing the lunchtime football.) Or at least, a pub that is heavily sports oriented. Thankfully the beer was ok too (Thwaites Amber, Gold and IPA from their new range) and at a reasonable price - it wasn't my round but I seem to recall £2.30 a pint. And when following Luton away it's always good to hear The Jam's A Town Called Malice on the jukebox.

Re-opened today after a smart refurbishment and almost back to it's former glory when it used to be included in our Barbary Coast pub crawl on a Friday night in the late 60's. There was 4 Thwaites cask beers on all at £2.30p a pint with all the standard taps at bargain prices. The Strongbow Dark Fruit was £2.30p a pint Fosters £2.40p and Coors Light £2.50p.

A cafe/coffee shop. It has a single Amstel pump but I was informed by the staff that it is not a pub anymore and the draught is only available when a function is on. There are bottled beers apparently available but not many.
