Downstairs and upstairs rooms with the bar to the left in the downstairs portion. Six hand pumps, none of which were particularly strong, but a decent selection of craft made up for that.

Six hand pumps, with two ciders and four real ales, plus eight keg fonts, would suggest that this would be a destination pub, but in reality I found it to be a pretty ordinary street corner bar, cramped for space and with little in the way of comfort or atmosphere. There was a wine-tasting class going on at the time of our visit, which the tutor had to interrupt to serve us our beers. We found these to be a little on the cold and therefore taste-free side of drinkable, and a bit pricey too at £3.60 a pint. There was an interesting sound track and a small gallery upstairs on the way to the toilet, but I find in my notes the phrase "is that it?". All in all, an underwhelming experience.

A small corner bar and diner with the bar on the ground floor and more dining space and unisexual toilets upstairs. The counter down the back wall has six pulls, two serving ciders and a changing range of small brewery products on the others, I enjoyed a Cloudwater Pale. There are also eight keg taps in two banks, the beers being listed on a blackboard by the door. Pretty much everything is in laminate, floors and furniture, drinking shelf down one side by the large windows, this gives it the light, airy feel described by Peter Ashworth. Space is at a premium and furnishing is limited to a couple of refectory tables and bar stools.
