One of many pubs and bars on this popular strip, this is a combined pub and taproom, although quite how many of the beers are actually brewed on the premises, I’m not sure. It didn’t look to be an especially large establishment, so I suspect just a small selection.
Internally it’s all one large, open plan room and perhaps feels a little industrial in appearance with black paint on the ceiling and much of the walls, although there is some sort of wood strip on the floor as well as some exposed stone walling to the right and butcher’s style tiling elsewhere. The long bar counter was clad with some sort of wood that could well have been cut from a barrel, and this was illuminated to make something of a feature. There were a couple of stainless steel brewing vessels on a rack just inside the door, as well as three or four barrels up on a shelf. Whether this the extent of the brewing operation I’m not sure, but there was no sign of anything else. Seating was a mixture of high stools at the bar, with tales and benches elsewhere.
The solitary real ale on tap was Timothy Taylor Landlord, although there was a second pump that appeared unused so there may on occasions be a couple. There was however an extensive keg selection, both from themselves and others. Their own selection included The Original, Caribbean Rum Cask, Session, Gunpowder, Mangoes on the Run, Tequila Cask and Summer Ale, whilst the guests were Cloudwater Proper DIPA Luminosa Edition, Camp Ervan Extra Black, Jubel Beer Cut with Peach, Inveralmond Ossian Smooth and Ossian Stout and Camden Pale. The solitary cider meanwhile was Orchard Pig Reveller which made a very pleasant change from the usual dross around these parts.

Innis & Gunn tap bar that feels like a BrewDog lite bar.

a typical craft beer ‘brewery tap’ clearly inspired by the Brewdog chain. Set up for discomfort, all seating is canteen benches and it’s almost impossible to get settled in the loud, dark interior. Most of the 24 (!) kegs on the TV screen were guests, plus the two cask options. Food is available and well cooked typical American/pub fare. Okay but just not my idea of a good pub and never will be.
