The Morgan is a long L-shaped Marstons pub with a central L-shaped bar counter that supports standard and premium keg alongside two banks of four hand pumps. Alas, only Pedigree was available during a visit yesterday lunchtime with the unused hand pumps being used to showcase the food menus. This is a carvery, with a serving area in the right side of the pub, although there was no carvery during my visit. I decided to have a double burger with chips, which was just about worth the money at around a tenner. Different seating areas run along the front wall opposite the bar and seating in the right-hand side feels a little more pub like with a large TV and exposed brick fireplace. Muted Politics show on BBC 2 was airing while some background music played, but BT Sport is advertised so expect football when available. Adjacent to the pub is a good sized beer garden made up of a patio area with furniture and grass covered areas with picnic tables. The sun was blazing so there were a few people soaking up the rays. This is a family friendly pub so some children’s climbing apparatus is also in situ. This isn’t somewhere I’d actively seek out again, but the service was very friendly and as somewhere to grab lunch it done its job.
