Seed has taken over the premises of Pomegranate which was a popular restaurant. The two women that were on duty during my brief visit on Friday afternoon were extremely friendly. Unfortunately the three draught premium lagers were all off due to ‘line cleaning’ so I had a half pint bottle of Moretti which set me back £4. The interior is very dark with a small bar on the right hand wall and seating around the exterior walls giving a late bar feel. I didn’t spot a television and I do not recall there being any music, although I would be surprised if the atmosphere didn’t liven up later in the evening.

I decided to sit outside on a long bench that runs the width of the building. Here I learned that tapas food is available with dishes ranging from fries (£3) to Catalan beans with meat or fish (£10). I also witnessed the arrival of three beer kegs which would suggest that the line cleaning claim was just a ruse.

I got the feeling that this place has just opened so I wish them all the best.
