Scotland's first and so far only micropub. The very friendly and welcoming owner was happy to discuss the various trials and tribulations that preceded the opening of his small pub. The beers are stillaged behind the bar, with tow pale, one dark and one stout the standard offering. To avoid wastage, most of the beers are in pins rather than firkins. He is also involved in the Kelso Gin Company and tutored tastings are available by arrangement. The bar counter is a work of art, having been designed and made by a local craftsman. I had Broughton Dark Dunter and |Stewart 80/-, both of which were very enjoyable. Opens mid-afternoon until 9pm in the week, noon until 10 on Friday and Saturday, and noon until 9 on Sunday.
