Like most of the bars and restaurants along this stretch Saints and Scholars has awning covered seating out the front. A small bar counter on the right wall faces seating to the left. Some stairs lead up to the rear, I didn’t investigate. Premium keg is available. There’s no problem sitting in here listening to the low background music with a beer, but I thought it felt more restaurant than bar. I also didn’t find the old chap on duty to be very welcoming.

Interesting bar, it's a bit of a strange shape and extends quite a bit to the rear. Lots of quirky things around the walls. Bootleg Chorlton Pale on the one handpump. Sadly it was vinegar. The attractive barmaid went to get the landlord who told me it had only just been tapped. Well you've tapped a cask of vinegar then I said. I ended up with an Estrella. Shame, I quite liked it in here.

Although this could possibly classed as a restaurant to me it is more of a pub with with a dining area at the rear and there is no problem just calling in for a drink. There was no cask beers on but there was 3 more unusual beers on tap plus the standard selection of bottled beers. On entry the bar faces you with a few tables and chairs to either side of this, and to the left of the bar up a few steps there is the dining area. There is also outside seating at the front of the pub which is handy if you are waiting for a bus back to Manchester.
