Situated at the top of a hill, as the village's name would suggest and above the town of Moreton-in-the Marsh, this is another Donnington Brewery pub, the third of the day for us. I was glad to finally find their SBA, which was on in addition to the BB & Cotswold Gold. However, I was soon to be disappointed, as this was the worst of their 3 main beers. Ciders on were Thatcher's Gold & Weston's Stowford Press.
You enter into the main bar area, with a dining room off to the left. The bar is carpeted with a wood burner at one end. There was a TV switched off in one corner, but a decent range of pop music was playing instead. The walls are lined with pictures related to horse racing. Dogs are allowed.
Customers were a good mix of locals and walkers. The barman appeared to be foreign and communication wasn't the easiest. I was asked twice if I wanted a receipt for my card payment!
