Bar restaurant in the true sense, ie it caters for drinkers not only as an afterthought to be able to add the words '& bar' outside.
Two divided areas, with high ceilings & air con pipes on show to create space & height, its at the bottom of office buildings in the Business District. Its modern but comfortable enough, toned down by grey walls and chandaliers. Relaxed feel, the kitchen is open to see & the place is balanced all round. Makes it very tempting to eat here.
2 real ales - Landlord & Doom Bar, and kept ok.

Opened within the last year, the interior splits neatly into a modern bar to the left and a raised dining area to the right where the open kitchen is situated at the rear. The bar has a few high tables, some additional seating and a flatscreen which had the England football match. It's was popular on a Friday evening with a young professional crowd who work in the area, there was a buzzy atmosphere and several all women groups with many customers prefering to drink vertically. The decor is modern and takes advantage of the high ceiling, the arches between the two sections are replicated in the wall decorations. The bar has two handpumps serving Doom Bar and TT Landlord on my visit,so the real ale fan can be accomodated.
Although the muzak is played quite loud, the staff are very obliging and will turn it down if the atmosphere becomes less hectic, and the food is substantial and hearty with mains generally around £13 or so,from a menu giving a decent selection.
You can hire the restaurant side for a private function which was my reason for the visit. We were very pleased with the night with the friendly staff a major plus, professional and efficient.
