A pub/cafe in the bowels of the Marriott. It’s a long, rectangular room with a décor feel rather like an upmarket JDW eg modern dark wood panelling; red, orange and mocha paint and fabric shades. There were also various arty photos on the walls. Silent news TV and modern lounge-style electronica on the speakers. Toilets spotless. Two ales on; Pedigree and W&E Zinzans Drop (warm but in decent shape). Expect to pay through the nose, poor old Desmond had the short straw for the round and was stung to the tune of £4.95 for half of ale and lemonade (poor quality bubbles too, he grumped). Service friendly, at least. Intriguing to know this exists but it’s really one for tickers and hotel guests only.
