As was in 2025 but didn't smell of dogs this time – who knows, maybe someone reads the nonsense I type after all. My Otherworld Khaos started well but faded a bit and ended as an NBSS 3. Rated 6.5

September 2025
Slightly off the main road in a small square, so easy to miss. A deathly silent micro on Saturday afternoon; layout was not conducive to group chat and not helped by a barman hauling himself off an adjacent seat with his phone to come over to the jump in order to serve me. Odd interior with an office style ceiling, scree floor and green walls. Smelt of old dog. Six cask ales and a load of keg and ciders, the cask looked like drawn off the barrel. My Alter Ego Sidekick was ace (NBSS 4), with halves of Black Iris Nail (NBSS 3) and Blue Monkey Guerilla Stout (4) also doing well. So if you want a pure GBG listed ale experience then come here but bring your own atmosphere and air freshener. Rated 6.5

Old Boots left this review about Beerhouse

The only Good Beer Guide listed pub in the town it’s tucked away down a narrow road off St Marys Rd in spite of its address, in a non-descript modern building. Not sure what it was converted from, it’s on the ground floor with a concrete floor and low ceiling. Split into three, to the left by the main entrance is a small seating area where some geeks were playing a strange board game. The large mid section contains a straight counter with 20 taps on the back wall, the beers are listed on black boards at each end of the counter. Not much indication of packaging type only a pump clip or roundal on the blackboard gives it away. Three cask, with four ciders, the rest were various keg types on my visit. The area on the right has the usual services. Seating is at an assortment of tables, pews, padded and unpadded, and strangely enough actually matching chairs, there are a few bar stools as well. The stools do allow bar blockers to obscure the black boards on occasions. A fridge is at one end of the counter with bottles and cans to choose from. Not a traditional pub and the lack of atmosphere, dispense and type of beer will not appeal to all. The beer was in good condition if rather cold.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Beerhouse

Set back from the main road in an anonymous former shop building with an outdoor seating area having all the charm of a builders' merchant yard. The bar itself was a bit larger than I expected, and the three large windows help to lighten what is otherwise a rather gloomy interior. The atmosphere was dead flat too on a Friday lunchtime. However, it certainly has an interesting selection of six cask ales, four ciders and ten craft keg beers. I tried Woodcock's Relish from Nene Valley (£4.50) and the very local Braybrooke Keller Lager (£2.80, half).
