The outside of Chinaski’s hasn’t changed. I have just uploaded new photos of the pub so I hope they’re published.

As the last reviewer said, Chinaski’s was next to the Black Sparrow. Black Sparrow then became Liberté - and now it’s known as Sualdo’s. Chinaski’s name isn’t on the pub, just a squiggly drawing of a man’s face. Chinaski’s is next door to Sualdo’s so I hope my photos will be published.

If looking for this bar please be aware there is no name on the door (trendy git's) only a turquoise coloured bar with a rough squiggle drawing of a man's face (but its directly next door to the Black Sparrow). Despite this and its location at the very top of Sauchiehall street (on North St) and having to cross the busy M8 Motorway(don't worry it has traffic lights) it is more than worth the effort. The bar is split between a beer garden area and the main bar itself. On entering the bar you find it is a good cross between mega stylish and rustic with nice dark lighting and a trendy wooden bar area, exposed sandstone walls, wood floors and trendy / interesting portraits of the author Charles Bukowski (the pub theme and name is taken from one of Bukowski's most famous literary characters) and various signed copies of his greatest works framed on the walls (Ham and Rye etc). Seating is ample with chairs and tables but it gets busy at the weekend and standing room is available. The pubs focus is on a fine selection of bourbons (Bukowski was a bit of a boozehound) and rums but it has other spirits and some really nice tap and bottled beers - prices are a bit higher than other pubs in the Sauchiehall street area but are not over the top - food is very good indeed - Don't be put off thinking its an overly stylish bar, ok it is but the clientèle are friendly as are the bar staff. The Beer garden is really nice (but I visited in November so didn't stay too long outside) - great wee bar a must visit.
