The Vestry was previously called the fox and is a thin pub with seating and a plasma screen at the front by the entrance. The bar runs along the right hand wall and is stocked with standard draught products and supports two hand pumps. One of these was unused and the Otter Ale on the other pump was off during my visit on Thursday evening a couple of weeks ago. At the rear of the pub are a pool table and another plasma screen. I didn’t note seeing any Sky Sports advertisements, but this does seem like a place that would show football so I may have missed them. There was some music playing in the background which almost drowned out the heated conversation from three men at the bar who looked as though they were going to come to blows.
I found the food menu to be a little confusing, but I think that cheap pub grub is available from midday until 14:30 and 17:00 until 20:00. There is also an advertised carvery on Wednesdays and Sundays.

I didn’t see anything in here that will have me rushing back.
