A handsome hotel at the north end of the main street, consisting seemingly of three distinct buildings joined together. Entering by the central door, the public bar is immediately to the right, with a games room beyond and a dining room to the left. The bar itself is a solid affair and would look even better if even one of the two hand pumps was adorned with a pump clip. I made do with a Guinness, and was almost immediately assailed by a blast of loud music heralding the beginning of the weekend - it was Thursday evening. Prior to this there had been a lively atmosphere, and some people seemed to manage to continue their conversations even in the face of this 100 decibel assault. Not my idea of a good time.

Nicely-kept pub at top of main street, with a large bar area and a dining room off to the side and games room behind. Very friendly and some good home-cooked food, with a couple of good ales.
