Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Lea Gate
After finding the Malcolm Arms in Anton's Gowt had closed in February, I was at least treated to a magnificent display from the Red Arrows on the way to The Leagate. Entering from the car park, you soon find a traditional bar with a stone floor, low beams plenty of horse brasses and a real fire. Beyond the bar area is a carpeted area up a step and used for diners. This area has exposed brick walls and a dresser with large porcelain bowls. Another room to the left side also has exposed brick walls, with some large wooden tables and benches. Further rooms were off to the right-hand side, but with most tables made out for diners, I settled in some seating in the fireplace area of the bar itself, doing no further exploration.
Timothy Taylor Landlord is the regular cask ale and they have a couple of guest beers. For my visit, these were Black Sheep Best Bitter & Vocation Bread & Butter. Keg beers included Vocation Crush Hour, Tiny Rebel Electric Boogaloo & Beavertown Gamma Ray. The cider was Aspall's. A board next to the bar was promoting some winter cocktails.
This is first and foremost a dining pub, but it does feature in the Good Beer Guide. So, drinkers are not forgotten.
