A large hotel bar open to non resident but it's intensely dull.There are large picture windows but dated bench seating in blue velour,a terrestrial flatscreen and a real ale free bar with very standard,boring kegs with the best option seeming to be Caledonian Coast to Coast,instantly forgettable.I too was stay in the hotel,dated and well worn but close to the station.Keep on walking past.

A hotel bar that is as bland as you can imagine; even the exposed stone wall is, in fact, wallpaper. There are some nice prints and a selection of shields above the bar. No ale and a terrible fridge, so a McEwans 70/- sufficed, served up by grumpy staff who look like they’d rather be bathing in acid than serving you. A shame there is no outside seating as the hotel is located opposite the green and affords a nice view.
We stayed here and the room was fair, if a bit dated and basic. The buffet breakfast was fit for a king as well.
As a bar though? Forget it.
