This is a brewhouse that is not currently brewing. At the moment the test brews on the bar are being brewed at Dukeries in Nottingham. I was told that when the brewery is up and running it will be called Aardvark brewery. I thought that T12 was very nice, but T1 less so. Also on the bar were 3 ales from Dukeries along with ales from Dancing Duck, Derby & Mr Grundys. The 16 barrel brew plant along with 3 fermenters are visible through a large window at the rear. It's going to take a hell of a lot of effort from a startup to sell that much beer, especially as none were available next door in Henrys. As you enter there's a small comfortable room with deep leather sofas to the right. An area with standard dining tables and chairs to the left and a another room to the rear with a couple more tables. There were a few people in on our Tuesday evening visit, but when we called again on Wednesday afternoon there was no-one in. All the beers I had were in good nick though and the other half liked the red wine and loved the place, so I'm guessing we'll be back soon.

This is a new venture by the owners of Henry's, and although it is possible to get from one to the other through the yard to the rear, they are distinct and separate pubs. There is brewing equipment installed behind the pub, and at the time of my visit there were four test brews available on the bar. Also available was the revived Shipstones Bitter, and several other real ales on hand pumps. There are also American bottled beers and several expensive "craft keg" beers available from fonts set in the wall behind the bar. It was fairly quiet in here on our Sunday evening visit, but the tiled walls and other hard surfaces mean that it will get pretty noisy whenever a crowd develops. An interesting addition to Sheffield's ale scene, and I'll definitely be back to see how it progresses.
