Bar and music venue in the town hall. A fairly impressive space with three red and white arches which guide you to either the sizeable rear area with pool table and stage, or to the left where the bar is. This is a pleasant space with some sort of early Medieval theme, via a jumbo section of the Bayeaux Tapestry above the servery and a neat stylised lower bar with old battle shields glued on. The huge arched windows let in plenty of light. Community-oriented, there was some sort of charity event going on in which you could win a super-jumbo stuffed bear. Whatpub says there's real ale here but there isn't as far as I could see, just a pretty straightforward keg line up. I went for a half of Staro which was notably cheap. A shame there's no cask as it feels like the kind of place that could shift it if they put the effort in. That aside, it's worth a nose for the bar decor.
