Visited 09/10/25. Visited previously 23/10/23

No cask. Extensive keg offering of their own brews and a number of guests, which this visit comprised a stout and an imperial stout at a whopping 14.5% abv from Vault City, a lager from Donzoko, a triple IPA from Cloudwater called Chubbles, a NEIPA from Basqueland called Conspiracy Theory and a NEIPA from Other Half called Hop Showers plus a sour called Juice that was a Vault City x Brew York.

This is one of the smaller branches I have visited. The bar counter is along the rear wall with the usual cinema style illuminated beer board above it on the rear wall. Seating around the right-hand wall and front provided by leather banquettes serving regular tables with similar in the rear left-hand corner before the rectangle thins o- the way to the metal flight of steps down to a small basement seating area near the bathrooms. Centre of the ground floor are tall tables with tall, backed leather stools and there are some leather padded booth style tables in the front left-hand corner by the window. Large projector screen on right-hand wall not in use on my visit and a huge red neon sign on left hand wall pronouncing "Cwrw Am Byth" (or “Beer Forever”). Venue is in a busy location and so hope this one survives the BD venue culling (if BD itself is spared culling)!

Expensive by local standards (as you'd probably expect), but packed on my visit - perhaps the international Rugby Union on the big screen was the reason? The range seemed to be limited to the more mainstream offerings from the Brewdog range and the shortage of seating made for a fairly uncomfortable experience. Obviously, I didn't experience the bar under ideal conditions but, nevertheless, there seems to be little to encourage a repeat visit, albeit that that's an unlikely prospect at even the best of times.

As I'm committed to visiting their Perth outlet this year I decided to break my boycott of this pub chain. As noted below it's a typical rectangular open plan trendy bar with a wooden floor, an unfinished look and basic furnishings. It was quiet on my Wednesday afternoon visit. There were no signs of cask and none of the numerous keg options could be described as cheap. I went for a 5am Saint (£5.00) which was a major disappointment as It didn't seem to be anything more than a stronger keg Boring Brown Beer. The Punk IPA was just 10p cheaper but I found it recently for £2.79 in a JDW. I'll still be going to the Perth one but doubt that I would return here given the better options nearby.
