Old skool micro of long standing (2013) with no counter as such, run by a Fraggle. Plum and off-white colours along with high bench seating and tables – everyone faces into the centre of the room which encourages conversation. Three samey style cask from the smaller brewers though my Mad Brewer Twisted Citra was very good (NBSS 4) and served from a chill room, so guaranteed to serve cool pints in the summer heat - so a GBG shoo-in. Think I recall some ciders as well, but my memory banks had run out of storage by the last pub of a very long, and very warm, day’s crawling. 7.5

Idiosyncratic micro with rather unreliable opening hours. Pretty conventional; there are 6 high tables with wall benches behind and a stillage cool room behind the little counter. Three cask ales on for this visit - two from Green Duck and one from Froth Blowers.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Cask & Pottle
Standard-issue micro-pub, with basic furniture limited decoration. Busy (and quite boisterous) on a Thursday evening. Four cask ales listed on the chalkboard, but with no counter, all are served by gravity from the 'Apparatus Room'. I went for the Broadtown Bobby's Tipple (£4.20), which was fine.
