The Bodega has just been re-opened after a light refurbishment. Nothing much has changed, still the same layout with lots of battleship grey paint in evidence. Nice little garden out the back would be great if it wasn't rammed with smokers on our Friday evening visit. Decent pint of Harvest Pale on offer, unfortunately served in a dimple pot, which I don't really like but the local hipsters seemed to enjoy. We left after one pint as the volume of the music was not conducive to conversation. This place stays open till 3am at the weekend, so if you are desperate for one last pint it might suit you.

The Bodega is a long standing pub situated halfway between the Thurland Hall and Lloyds No 1.
When i first visited this pub in the early 80s it was an Ind Coope tied house with really fizzy keg Ind Coope bitter on the bar.
The pub is still the same shape inside with a very small oblong shaped room, the bar is to the rear, there is now a raised area on the left side which has normal tables and chairs.
There were three pumps on the bar with two in use,i had a drink of Castle Rock Harvest pale which was a decent enough drink, the other beer was Doom bar.
This is more of a night time venue, but it does open at 4.00 Saturday afternoon.
It was nice to see some real ales on the bar,not a pub to go out of your way to do.
