Bucking Fastard left this review about Sloppy's
This bar has reopened recently ,and its back to the future with an American Diner concept that proved very popular in the 90's but was ditched in favour of a string of failed late night venues until now.The interior is long and thin, and close to the entrance there is a plaque on the wall commemorating those members of a club on this premises who perished in WW1.The bar to the right is lined with bar stools for the whole length, while opposite there are two high tables.Beyond this is the dining area with large seating booths to the left and a vast array of Americana dotted about the walls. The food is a decent copy of diner grub, and is popular with a cross section of punters but many younger people use it solely as a bar later in the evening and the four flatscreens with Sky Sports attract an audience as well.Sensibly the waiting staff turn down the flatscreen volume control when this is mostly used as a place to eat, which was the purpose of my trip . I enjoyed the simple fare.
At the bar there is a small selection of predicatable kegs ,although the bottled US selection was a shade more interesting.Nothing for the real ale fan.
I would use it to eat again, the whole American vibe is well done, but I would give the bar a wide berth given my age.
