A relatively modern building at the side of the river, this pub's main selling point is its outside areas and river views. There is a car park at the side and riverside terrace with wooden benches and tables. There is also a first floor balcony which offers river views, all great when the weather allows. Inside, there is a bar with a counter in the corner, which leads to a larger dining room. It feels a bit sparse, certainly not atmospheric. It feels a bit corporate, though it is actually an independent business. The young staff were helpful and friendly. Food is gastro-style, mainly sea food, but with a couple of excessively over-priced meat dishes, plus they offer pizzas. Ales were Anthem, Proper Job and Tribute from St Austell, while Arctic Sky led a range of megas for the keg offerings. The ales were in reasonable condition. Worth the short walk from the town centre just to enjoy the location.
