Alan Winfield left this review about Odd Whim
The Odd Whim was situated just off mossley road.
The pub looked in a right old state when i visited it,with peeling paint and a ramshackled looking extension which was added to the front of the pub.
Once inside there was a largish room where i had a drink, this room was carpeted and had normal tables and chairs,it seemed very dowdy.
The pub was a Wilsons tied house, there were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Wilsons bitter which was a decent drink, the other beer was Boddingtons bitter.
I was well pleased doing a pub that looked in such a state as this.
The car park and area to the left of the pub now have modern looking flats on them.
The pub is still there but much smaller than it used to be,the extension has gone and the left side of the pub has been pulled down, this leave a smart looking square shaped building, which is probably flats, there is a blue plack on this building,if you take a close look at my photo you will see the blue plack to the front right of the pub.
I found it quite interesting seeing what the pub looked like,to how it looks today.
