As described, a former shop and dining premises, now an excellent little pub which doesn’t get the attention it merits. It consists of the one long bar mentioned below, plus some cafe-style chairs and tables on the wide paved area which flows onto the footpath at the front. There is a gated cellar area down steps leading from the bar which, we thought at first, was a kitchen, but no hot food is on offer, just filled rolls which were very good value. There are large TV screens in both areas of the bar, while the décor featured a collection of horse brasses, bric-a-brac and various militaria. Of note was a picture of King Charles III. The staff were friendly, and the locals, mainly middle-aged ale drinkers, happy to chat. Cask ales on were Butcombe Original, Ramsbury Farmers Best, TT Landlord, Palmer’s Copper, Burton Bridge Stairway to Necteron and Ariel’s Summer Ale. Also on handpump was First Press Cider from Palmer’s. The keg range was three from Hawkstone, Guinness, Rattler and Carlsberg. Definitely worth a visit and inclusion in a crawl.

Surprised not to find a bit more love (well, reviews) for this place. Good Beer Guide 2025. Looks very pubby but reading the Whatpub blurb, I can see the building has had several other uses, including stationers and wine bar.

You'd be hard pushed to tell today. A long single room, with a cushion fronted bar. White rate, TT Landlord at least one other and get this - Palmers 200. I honestly thought it was only sold in their tied houses and I have never seen it North of the M4.

Permanently on and in perfect nick. Comfiest seating was a nanna style high back chair that may have been rocking but was cushioned.

Beer garden unexplored.

Easily the best of the pick in the village, even if I only went to one :-)

The replacement pub with new name after The Grapes left the premises across the road and set to change the Wine Bar to a pub following a rent dispute.
