Alan Winfield left this review about Samson & Lion
The Samson and Lion was a stern looking pub that was situated in the back streets of Pensnett.
Once inside the pub had a large and very basic bar which had normal tables and chairs and a tiled floor, there was a seperate lounge but i did'nt look in this room.
The pub was an Hansons tied house, there were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Hansons Mild which was a really nice drink, the other beer was Hansons bitter.
This was not really the sort of pub i like doing, but it was an Hansons tied house so i did it.
The pub is still standing, but has been converted into flats.
Yet another pub in this area to close down, such a shame there is now nowhere to drink round here.
