The Culver Haven Inn enjoys a great view over Sandown and was very busy on our Wednesday lunchtime visit. All tables were taken inside and in the outdoor area at the rear. We initially took up a seat in the front conservatory. But with tropical temperatures, it felt more like a greenhouse. So, we retreated to a wooden bench at the front of the pub.
Service was friendly. The ale choice was Greene King IPA, Well's Bombardier Glorious English & Goddard's Starboard.
As I was driving, I opted for a soft drink, which was 50% off, due to the Eat Out to Help Out. I thought this was for diners only. But who am I to argue!
Lovely location and well worth the climb/drive.

The approach to this pub is off the B3395 and take GREAT CARE when turning into the lane to Culver Down, it is a very dangerous junction. Having said that the single track road is very picturesque and passing with care should cause no difficulty. The pub itself is adjcent the Yaverland Monument which can be seen from many miles distant. I was there with a group and unfortunately do not have details of the available beer but the food offer was excellent with a good choice menu and generous portions, friendly staff and good service. There is plenty of seating in the restaurant area and also outside with fine views out to sea. Car parking is plentiful, nearby.
