Alan Winfield left this review about Olde Avebury
The Olde Avesbury was a corner pub that was situated in an area short on pubs, behind the Derby Royal Infirmary.
The pub was originally called the Arboretum, but this closed down after an incident.
We went in the pub shortly after its reopening.
Once inside there were a couple of rooms, these seemed quite smart with normal tables and chairs.
The pub was an Ansells tied house, but there were only horrible Ansells keg bitters on the bar.
The pub closed down in the mid 90s when the Royal Crown Derby Pottery turned it into a visitor centre.
