Strongers . left this review about The Smokin' Fox
The Smokin’ Fox has a bar counter on the left wall that faces high tables down the centre and booths along the right-hand wall. At the rear some steps climb up to another seating area and televisions are found throughout for showing live football. Muted La Liga was being shown whilst some upbeat background music played during my midweek evening visit. The bar supports standard, premium and craft keg. A sign on the entrance designates this pub as a World Cup Fan Zone, but I’m not sure what that actually means because almost every pub in Glasgow shows live football. I thought it was OK in here, for a sports bar.

Paul McScotty left this review about The Hope
Situated across from Glasgow central station the Hope is a new(ish) addition to the City's bar culture. Formally called the Grahamston a cheap and cheerful type bar , the Hope has moved its focus to attract the city's many office workers and trendies out for the night. No doubt it is a very attractive stylish looking bar - a long ornate looking wooden bar area greets you as your enter (directly ahead of you on your left) behind the bar wines, whiskeys, vodkas etc are very nicely presented on tidy brightly light mirrored shelves. The wooden floors and hanging ball like lights add to the atmosphere. Lots of seats and tables around (with a dedicated seating area for food at the back ) and a central island type tables across from the bar make it a good place to rest your pint - it also has a flat screen TV . Seems to focus more on wines and cocktails but has a good selection of standard pump beers and bottles ( no real ales and nothing out of the ordinary) I had a nice pint of Caledonia Best for £3 (Jan 2014) . The bar opens at 8am for coffee and breakfast, it also has free Wi-fi and papers so its a good place to relax - food looks good (trendy stuff) - the toliets still require a walk down steep stairs . One downside is that even although the bar areas is very nice looking they have taken away a lot of the stunning bar the Grahamston had (mermaids dark wood pillars etc) - When I was in the music was so loud I couldn't hear myself talk -so left) I prefer the Hope for a coffee rather than a pint but if your into loud trendy wine bars its ok (bar staff could cheer up a bit)
