Apart from the barman, I was the only person in the Bierkeller during a recent Tuesday evening visit. Compared to it’s peers it’s a thin and small bar, which makes sense if it’s sharing the space with two other bars. High tables of differing sizes run up the mirrored left-hand wall and there are some shell booths at the rear. Brick (maybe) arches have been installed from left to right to try and give the feel of a cellar bar, it doesn’t work, especially with televisions playing muted Sky Sports Premier League Show. Lots of German beer signs are dotted around the walls and the bar, but none of them are actually available from the eight keg fonts, or from the fridge that is stocked with an equally uninspiring choice. The barman was polite, but this place is nothing more than a bog standard city bar.

This is effectively the same place as Around The World in 80 Beers and Shooters Sports Bar. I walked from one to the other last Friday with no restrictions. In fact they share the same toilets anyway. Shooters has loads of Big Screens and also had a live acoustic group during my early evening visit. The Bierkeller has long tables and serving wenches. Around The World is a more traditional bar with a range of bottles beers alongside much of the same fizz as the other two.
