It Bar is now known as Rum & Reason. It's under new management and recently had a refurb.

Small one roomed bar, housed in a former branch of Subway. A fairly generic interior, that ticks all the current boxes – a bit of exposed brick, industrial style lighting frame, chain style curtaining, you get the picture. To be honest I wasn't sure if ‘It’ was more of a diner, but on entering the friendly barman assured me they were a bar that happened to do food.
What drew me in was the sight of three hand pumps on the bar. Unfortunately, one was not being used, the second featured the mystifyingly popular Doom Bar, which only left Partners ‘Tabatha’ of interest. Unfortunately, it was rather tired and to rub salt into the wound I was charged a significant price hike for a half compared to a pint.
Food is a big deal here and is pretty much TexMex in style. As a sucker for a decent high end burger I decided to give the much vaunted It burger a try, which proved to be rather a let-down. Disappointingly, the patty wasn’t char grilled and came swimming, or should that be drowning, in cheap industrial cheese. Chips, naturally, came in a voguish galvanised bucket.
Atmosphere wise, it was all a bit quiet on a midweek afternoon, but I’ve no doubt it is much busier in the evening and at weekends. Plus, I couldn’t really fault service from the barman, he was courteous and attentive throughout my visit. However, there wasn’t really enough of a wow factor to make me want to call again, particularly as there is some pretty stiff competition in the area.
