Cherry Red is a laminate floored café bar with a wood panelled serving counter on the right-hand wall where premium and craft keg is available alongside three hand pumps that were drawing Twisted Barrel’s Conventrian Bitter, Left Handed Giant’s Open Trail and Birmingham Brewing’s Mr Egg Yellow. I went for the Conventrian that I wouldn’t order again. This is a café bar, so during a recent midweek afternoon visit most customers sat at the mix of café and lounge seating were eating cakes with hot drinks. There was some background music that wasn’t really my bag, and although the service was polite, I struggled to get comfortable, so I don’t plan on revisiting.

Decent enough little café bar with 2 cask ales on. Birmingham Brew Pale Brummie and Fownd Frost Hammer when I called. I went for the Pale Brummie at £4.90 which was pretty good. Card only.

City centre which was much busier and much livelier than on my previous visit on a Sunday in 2019. To be honest, I preferred the quietness of my Sunday visit to this busy Saturday, but there was certainly a buzz about the place and the surrounding area.
A couple of real ales were available - Birmingham Brew Company Gold Brummie & Burning Soul Harlequin. In addition, there were a few craft beers. It can take a while to get served, with many others ordering coffees and snacks.
Table seating was popular and there is also an overspill seating area upstairs.
