I popped into Mungo’s just after opening on Saturday afternoon a couple of weeks ago. The opening times are 17:00 until late Wednesday through to Saturday. The L shaped interior consists of a dance arear complete with DJ booth to the right of the entrance and a small bar to the left. An upstairs bar and lounge with the capacity of up to 250 people is also available for hire. I did not visit this area during my visit. The bar is stocked with a limited premium keg range that included Hop House Lager and Rekorderlig cider. There were also a couple of wine fonts. Happy hours are from opening until 21:00 when two of the same cocktails can be purchased for a tenner. There is also a cocktail masterclass for £15 which includes making two cocktails and access to nibbles.
I’m a bit long in the tooth for bars like this so I was happy to be the only customer. It gave me a chance to have a chat with the guy behind the bar who was extremely friendly and I would like to wish them all the best with this venture.
