No cask ale of course, but Camden Hells Lager and Pale were available, so not a total Carling-fest. Plastic glasses are in use (at least outdoors).
Nice view of the Serpentine, this tourist trap was predictably busy on a nice August day. Plenty of outdoor seating, with QR codes on the tables to bring up a menu and ordering system. As well as the main building there is also a small outdoor bar that you can order from, but I just used the QR ordering system. £4 for a fairly small bowl of chips leaves you feeling a bit done over but I wasn't really expecting anything different.
It is a pleasant setting, however the toilets do let it down and reminded me of grim smelly 1980s public toilets. They do have signs advising that toilets are for customer user only (and even that receipts may be checked!) but it was far too busy for this to be enforced and seemed a bit overkill for the state of the facilities.
Not somewhere to spend hours, but for a quick refreshment break while sightseeing, this place serves its purpose and could definitely be a lot worse.

Nick Davies left this review about The Serpentine Bar & Kitchen
This is the main bar/restaurant in the park perfectly situated at the east end of the Serpentine. The inside is of no interest, supposedly something to do with "English country living" so vaguely gastro-style but outside is a lakeside terrace extending along to a large beer garden with plenty of seating. High-end contract caterers who think more of themselves than perhaps they should, and high-end bar prices too, well over four quid for the usual keg selection. Service can be slow, as there's usually a queue of tourists trying to explain to the bar staff what they want, with neither party having English as a first language; there is a stand outside serving drinks sometimes. But once you've got your drinks it must be one of the best spots in central London to enjoy an outdoor pint or three on a hot sunny afternoon.
