My first pub in today's jaunt in Ludlow. I knew it would be good but I was going to save it for later. There was a bus stop more or less outside.
A civilised 11am opener. At 11:15, I wasn't even close to being the first in. Bizarrely, I was able to grab the best sofa - in front of an elevated log burner.
A bar, shop, an outside catering company and then all the brewing going on.
With plenty of work to do, I obly stopped for one - pint of the day and absolutely delicious Stairway. As you would hope.
Would return in a heartbeat. And possibly stay just here next time in Ludlow.

Fantastic brewery tap for Ludlow brewery, well described below. Right by the train station.
This is a must do if you are in Ludlow. 6 of their own beers on. I tried 3 and they were all excellent.

UPDATE: A brilliant revisit (actually two) swilling Black Knight and Silent Knight. As it was, and long may it remain so,

[2 July 2014] A former Victorian goods shed is now home to the Ludlow Brewery. There is an attached 'pub' which also has a patio area outside. The interior is an open plan room with a high trussed roof, which has a balcony level and a small stage area where local youngies were holding an all day music festival at our visit. The decor is brick, cream and red and there a mix of sofas and settles. As Oggy says, the mash tun is on full view. The service was friendly and the place rammed out with the performers and their families. They do large pork pies, too! Beer; the Ludlow range, Best, Blonde, Gold, Black Knight, Stairway and Boiling Well - and all i tried were very good - but then i am a fan of Ludlow's beers. A definite must if in the area.
