The SP Bar, Andover

A fairly twee little bar which, on entry, makes you think it’s a massage parlour due to the décor – dried petals around the doors, the word ‘LOVE’ over a curtained cubicle, the contrast between the fairly Spartan seating area and the actual bar bit all suggest a Glaswegian knocking shop, or possibly a gay bar.  But actually it’s just a fairly plain, modern bar for the younger, more metrosexual or possibly celeb-emulating youngster with little imagination.  It also seemed to allow small children to roam around with bowls of ice cream. That said the staff were pleasant, and the menu looked OK though we didn’t feel inclined to dine.  No real ale or indeed anything on draught that drew us – bottles of Punk IPA was the peak of ale-ness.  I shan’t be in a hurry to mince back here.
