The Mafeking was a decent looking bare brick built corner pub that was situated in the back streets of Normanton.
Once inside the pub had four seperate rooms,with a nice bar and comfortable lounge.
When i first went in this pub it was a Bass tied house with a very nice drink of Bass on the bar.
In more recent times the pub has still had Bass on the bar.
This was a very pleasant pub to have few drinks in.
The pub was still up and running in 2005 but has now sadly closed down.
The pub is still standing but is now in other use.
It is a great shame that such a nice pub like this has now closed down.
