The Normanton was a large pub that was situated on the corner of lower dale road and pear tree road,it faced normanton road like a master of the chaos around it.
When i first went in this pub it was an Ind Coope tied house with keg beers on the bar.
Once inside there was a large basic bar to the front, this is the only room i have had a drink in,this room had normal tables and chairs and had a very intimidating atmosphere, with women of the night and their pimps being the usuall customers here, plus lots of other low life types.
On my most recent visit here there were still no real ales on the bar.
This is one of those pubs that is so rough that you have to keep going in to see if it is still the same.
Sadly the pub closed down in the mid 2000s and it is now a chemists shop.
