Blue Scrumpy left this review about Fairley's House of Wines

There are two parts to this place. On the left is an off license selling all kinds of beer, whilst the right-hand side is quite a spacious pub.

The bar is on the left-hand wall as you walk in. I immediately noticed a fair number of young children running around, with their female owners sat on bar stools. They weren't exercising much control and seemed incapable of doing so, even if they desired, due to the amount of alcohol consumed. The male owners also appeared before I left the pub.

The main bar area has a pool table, which some of the children were playing. However, I retreated to a large side room to get away from the noise. Although one child did still keep running in and out.

Whilst the pub was in the Good Beer Guide until as recently as 2022, there are no cask ales anymore. Keg options included Lacada West Bay, Whitewater Maggie's Leap, Outcider & Smithwick's Red Ale.

The landlord seemed friendly enough, but was probably fed up of his pub being used as a creche. However, apart from me, if he'd have thrown the children out, he'd have had no customers.

I have to say that it really wasn't worth the effort in getting back to Coleraine to visit this pub. The only other pub I've visited in the town was the Old Courthouse, back in 2011. But with Wetherspoon's having sold the venue on, I don't believe you can drink cask ale anywhere in town these days.
