Grill on the Square isn’t a place I would normally pop into, but I spotted a couple of customers standing by the entrance with a cigarette and bottle of beer so I thought that I would climb the steps beyond the entrance to see if I could find a bar. I was very happy to find the bar along the right hand wall, but then my joy ebbed away as I realised that there are no hand pumps or draught taps. I decided to have a bottle of Peroni which set me back £3.50. Most of the other punters were drinking options from the extensive wine menu and cocktail list. My visit was just before 23:00 on Saturday night so the kitchen was closed and I didn’t get to see any menus. However, a couple of signs on the walls were advertising a £5 bar menu and Sunday roasts for £11.
The bar area is completed by some high tables and chairs that face the bar. Some pillars separate the bar area from the dining area which takes up the left hand side of the room. I didn’t see any televisions, but there was some background music playing at an acceptable volume for Saturday night. Live music is advertised for every Wednesday and Thursday evening from 19:00.

This may be a nice place to eat, but I wouldn’t revisit just for a beer again.
