The Earl of Chesterfield Arms is a decent sized pub that looks quite nice from the outside.
When i first visited this pub it was a free house selling keg Mansfield beers, things have improved since then.
Once inside the pub had three seperate rooms,i had a drink in the lounge which was dog legged in shape, this room was to the front right, there was a smaller bar to the rear and a dining room to the front left.
I had a drink in the lounge which was a nice room to have a drink in,the floor was stone tiled near the bar area and carpeted in the other areas, there were large wooden posts supporting a beamed ceiling and the seating was mainly comfy bench type with a table and chairs in the middle of the room, there was some decent music playing in this room, the bar had a stone floor and narrow tables and chairs, there was a TV in this room showing the rugby, this room was quite busy with older locals.
There were four real ales on the bar and one real cider,i had a drink of Castle Rock Harvest Pale which went down very well, the other beers were Bass,St Austell Tribute and Black Sheep bitter, the cider was Hogans Pickers Passion,i think the Harvest Pale and Bass were more permanent beers has they had their own glass.
There is a nice outside seating area with picnic tables and a small grassed area with a bouncy castle on it.
I quite enjoyed my time here and would have happily had a good session here.
The village is on the hourly Radcliffe line bus route from Nottingham to Bingham which runs during the day from Mon to Sat.
